Description
Fine and Tippy from the Yunnan. Typical of the region, but not typical for the price. Cups up with cocoa and honey notes. Medium body, great aromas. Durable.
$13.50 – $135.00
I am quite certain that you can find a Yunnan Golden Needle that will set you back 3 or 4 times as much, but why? This tea is the epitome of the middle path, plenty of body for structure from the more oxidized leaf combined with plenty of Golden tippy material. Drinks more like an Oolong really than a Black Tea.

I’m not much of a black tea drinker but I make an exception for Golden Monkey. It is a complex and interesting tea with notes of leather and earth. It is a surprisingly light tea for all the flavor it gives you.
I’ve used it for iced tea mixing it with sweetened condensed milk. Brew it strong and luxuriate in the rich flavor and fat!
I brew mine for two minutes.

I really like this tea. I have a lot of tea in my house, but this is now my first choice. I agree with the reviewer above who called it “complex and interesting.” It has a mellow, earthy flavor. I have not tried this tea iced (yet) or with milk or sugar. I brew it for two minutes and drink it as it is – wonderful.

This is such a smooth, mellow flavored tea with no bitterness. But it packs a punch. Helped me get over the coffee headache. Love this tea.
